GWI Modern Slavery Statement - FY 2024

GWI is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. As a leading audience insights company headquartered in the United Kingdom, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that modern slavery does not exist within our organisation or our supply chains. This statement outlines our approach to combating modern slavery and sets out the steps we will take to eradicate it.

About us

This statement is made by GlobalWebIndex Holdings Limited, which is the parent company of Trendstream Limited (incorporated in the UK), GlobalWebIndex Inc (incorporated in the United States) and various other subsidiaries within the GWI group (“GWI”).

GWI is an audience insights technology group. Our SaaS platform and custom data products are trusted by the world’s biggest brands, media organisations, and agencies on a daily basis to gain a deep understanding of their audiences at speed.

We are headquartered in London and have offices in New York, Athens, Prague and Singapore, employing over 550 people. We are a global business and our flagship consumer survey represents over 2.8 billion people and covers 52 markets across Europe, the Americas, Middle East & Africa and the Asia Pacific region.

Our supply chains

Our key suppliers are independent panel providers, who facilitate the completion of our surveys by consumers across the world and provide other research services. We also engage third party vendors, including technology services companies, to support our systems, platform and business.

Our policies

We have appropriate policies in place that underpin our commitment to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

Our Modern Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. We also have a Whistleblowing Policy, which allows employees to safely report any wrongdoing within GWI (including any purported instances of modern slavery or human trafficking).

Our board of directors ensure that the prevention of modern slavery is addressed as a priority within the organisation. Our employees are expected to familiarise themselves with this statement and our policies, and are encouraged to raise and report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery. We also expect our suppliers and contractors to comply with the principles set out in this statement and applicable policy and to undertake due diligence within their own supply chains.

Our full modern slavery policy can be found on our website.

Our due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to conduct due diligence on our supply chains to identify and assess potential risks of modern slavery. This includes reviewing the labour practices of suppliers and contractors to ensure they adhere to applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, we prioritise working with suppliers who embody and share our commitment to eradicating modern slavery.

Our due diligence processes consist of involvement of employees from the following departments:

  • Procurement
  • Legal
  • Finance
  • People
  • Revenue

Supplier adherence to our values

As part of our procurement processes, we require key suppliers (i.e. suppliers with a contract value of over £50k per annum) to provide copies of their policies to eliminate modern slavery from their supply chains or otherwise demonstrate their commitment to doing so. Whenever possible, we include robust anti-modern slavery clauses in our contracts with suppliers that require them to confirm compliance with laws relating to modern slavery, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Employee awareness and training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, GWI provides regular training to our employees to raise awareness of modern slavery issues and to ensure staff understand their role in detecting and preventing modern slavery within the organisation and its supply chains.

Reporting mechanisms

We encourage all employees and our suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery to the VP, Head of Legal. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation. GWI will investigate all report cases promptly, and appropriate action will be taken if a form of modern slavery is identified.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes GWI’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year 2024. It was approved by the board on 24 October 2024 and is signed on its behalf by Tom Smith, CEO:
