GWI Software Announces Compliance with New Daylight Savings Time Changes

February 21, 2007 - Vancouver, WA - GWI Software, an industry-leading provider of comprehensive IT help desk software applications, today announced that both recent releases of its flagship product, c.Support® Version 5.5 for Windows® and c.Support® 2007 for Lotus®, fully support daylight savings time changes resulting from Congress’ Energy Policy Act of 2005 going into effect March 11, 2007.

The Act, which results in daylight savings time occurring three weeks earlier this spring and one week later next fall, was designed to foster energy savings but has created uncertainties for many businesses and software developers. One such vendor is Microsoft®, who released a daylight savings patch through its automatic update feature, but has cautioned users regarding confusion on meeting times in its Outlook® application during the change.

Another concern among businesses is that legacy systems, which were originally built to handle previous time formats, may no longer be supported by manufacturers. Likened to the Y2K scare on a lesser scale, the effects of the new time changes are somewhat unknown.
